Very few people have even the slightest clue what does into a new design like the EB48. Yes, the Tekno team can apply some of their learning from the EB48 to other platforms, but it isn't cookie cutter. To match the EB48 quality, Tekno would have to have multiple prototypes already produced today with testing well underway in order to deliver a SCT to the public before the end of 2013. Do they have this? Only a few would know, but my guess is that they aren't this far along yet in their new platform. To have a prototype, you first need a design..this is probably where they are now (possibly very early in the design).

You also must consider how much work is going into sustaining this brand new EB48 product line. They don't get to simply release the EB48 then move on; there's a considerable amount of work that goes into maintaining a product like this. Additionally, the company is probably in the "cost-reduction" phase of manufacturing the EB48 (typically when you release a new product, it costs you more to make it than it has to. Over time you learn/develop new parts/manufacturing methods which make the same parts for less) so this would take more of their resources away from developing a new product.
