I tried a gens ace battery, and I'd probably still be using it if I hadn't blown it up. I connected the bullets backwards, heard a pop, and nothing would turn on. I thought it took out the ESC, but apparently there's a fuse or something in the battery that blew out.

Its not a fuse, the tag from one of the cells blew off the tube. If you are very carefull you can split the case open and solder it back on but ONLY TRY THIS IF YOU ARE VERY COMPETENT OR HAVE GOOD INSURANCE
