I am new to this hobby so excuse my ignorance if the answer is obvious. It seems like every part has an upgraded or aftermarket part that is lighter yet I look at everyones car at the track and there are lead weights all over it. AE even came out with the weight mentioned in the post above to mount at the rear axles for better traction. Why lighten you axle/hub carriers which aren't driven by your motor so you have to add weight to your chassis. Is seems like the lower weight would help stabilize your car verse a weight mounted higher up in the chassis.
I think I understand the whole thing is about making money and selling everyone something they think will make them drive faster. Unless you are horsepower limited and using everything your motor can do, lightening your car won't make it go faster...hold the throttle longer.
