What kind of receiver? 2.4GHz antennas are generally tuned and cut to quarter, half, or full-wave lengths. If your antenna is a coax type, coil the portion closest to the RX in a wide/gentle circle and try to get your antenna portion (the thin part near the end) straight.

If it isn't a coax type antenna (to my knowledge only some Spektrum and ultra-cheap receivers have non-coax antennas), you should not bundle them up anywhere.

You shouldn't have issues with it inside the vehicle with a decent radio system. Mine are all up an antenna tube that I zip tie to the rear shock tower (like a tail over the transmission), and my range/reception issues even on large outdoor tracks.
