Yesterday was a fun day with 5 FGX cars testing and sharing setups.

Main tips:

1. Use thick fluid or grease on front kingpin. This will slow down weight transfer during off power and help in off power oversteer.
2. The Pit Shimizu tires are good but inserts and sidewalls too soft. Maybe harder inserts would be better.
3. More caster (e.g. 6 degrees) might help in off-power oversteer.
4. Lightweight helps a lot.

During the period of 10am - 1pm, when track was still a little dusty and low grip, the FGX were faster than direct drives. But later as the track became medium to high grip, the direct drives were faster due to drivetrain efficiency (as I tested cars using same weight with FGX and Tamiya).

FGX turn in was very fast, maybe faster than direct drives. But on exit it loses out on acceleration in a high grip track.

Solution: Race on a low grip, twisty and bumpy track layout.
