There is no real universal setting on the Low speed needle. Alpha different low speed needles on their engine models and the Older Alpha carbs had slighlty different needles as well.

However all he high speed needles are pretty close to flush on the high speed needle.

So set you idle gap opening ( remove carb restrictor,look down carb and close the idle gap until ther is just barely no gap, then go in exactly 1 full turn in and the idle gap will be very close. put restrictor back in.)

Set low speed needle to flush with housing. this will be rich but you can lean the low speed needle a couple hours at a time until you get a solid idle.

This will get you in the ball park then you can start over with the high speed needle and get it fine tuned, then go back for the final low speed setting.
