I think you are right. I use a 4cell lipo and it does cause problems with the contacts. My engines start quickly and I never run it too long, it seems to be caused from a spark in the contact. I think you are right a 3 cell would probably be better. I will have to try one. Great idea.
3 cell is way too weak to turn over a tight engine. 4s lipo has no problems with me, just make sure ur using deans.
i was keeping my box running for almost 20 seconds bc my engine didnt start right away and have had no problems
3s = too weak.
