My 2 rx8 are older than two years(first batch of the 3 holes version). Run thousand packs on them, still running strong. Only one issue(after two years), on one esc the internal bec is not able to work with HV servos anymore(stuff like savox or kopropo, no problem running standard servos), an external bec solved my problem. I'm using my esc on both buggy and short course truck equipped with T8 1900/2050kv and Pro4 4000/4600kv.
Solved all the problem with the old 4 holes case version, my opinion is that now over 50% of failure(I suspect many more) are due to user inexperience with hardware or software. My next esc will be an rx8(or a newer version perhaps
