The novak is ok for messing around, but you still have to be careful about how you gear them or the the speed control will still overheat. Customer service is good and novak does support this product if you have warrenty issues. Even out of warrenty, some things are still fixed, especially if it concerns the rotor. Some if you are looking for something that is like a 12 turn, with less work required, and consistant performance, the novak will work for you.

If you are looking for something to keep up with the 8-turn motors in open modified class, you need to look to Hacker, Lehner, and Schulze.
