For indoor, I've heard decent things about the system. It doesn't compare to the AMB system, but remember. Most people who do "currently" race run the AMB transponders. Racers may not be happy to buy a new transponder to race at your track specifically. Just a thought.
Your correct, I own a couple AMB PT's myself. But I am thinking of having handouts, or rental transponders.

You spend more on tires, rims, and foams to get competitive, and even more for a new body and paint.
I would buy those transponders if my local track had the system, to support my local track.
Looking at the trackmate system and the transponder are only $25.00
