What you can do is drill all your holes and tap them as deep as you can with the tap. Then take a grinder and grind the end of the tap down a little. So there is just a little bit of taper left. Then finish tapping them.
I know you are already done with yours. But for anyone else that needs to do it.
I just used a steel 4-40 screw with a 3/32 head and some bushing oil to get the hole threaded further. My old bolink tap was not cutting far enough for my liking due to the taper. I did one screw in the center and it cut the slop in half. For the sloppy bearing holes I use blue painters tape. I think the car works way better and runs quiter with these mods. Oh yea....No more toe out on the rear lol.
