The sensor wire comes out the back so the ESC would need to be mounted longs ways (58mm) in order to keep it away from the drive-shaft, or mount it as in the picture (but back toward outside) and cut a hole in the mudguard.
We run the MMP with a sensor wire toward the driveshaft. Just route it up and away, never had a problem with it. You have about 10+ mm to play with between the ESC and the motor though. I'd say 99% that there is a way to route it to work without any issues.
