Well since Tower had a couple of good deals going on now like free shipping and their regular discount codes...I just bought an OFNA DM-1 Spec E for around $220ish. I always wanted an 1/8 on-road for parking lot bashing and occasional practice at our huge on-road course half an hour away.
Extra parts I have laying around I plan on using:
MMM w/2200kv or MMP?
Tons of 3s and 4s packs
Hitec 7954SH (.12 sec transit and 403 oz/in @ 7.4V)
Question: Can I get away with using a MMP w/CC BEC @ 7.4V on the Hitec 7954SH to save a bit of weight compared to the MMM?
Also should I look into a faster servo something in the .10 sec or less transit speed and how much torque would be adequate?
I come from the rock crawler side of r/c so all my servos have over 300 oz/in. and speed is not really that big of a factor for us.
