If you ran saddle packs, they'd fit, but depends on the mfr sometimes. Generally speaking, saddle Hardcase LiPo's are about 69.1mm long (x2 = 138.2mm), whilst a standard Hardcase LiPo is 138.5mm long.. Same height and width, for both. If you ran bullets w/o bulky deans or adapter wires, you shouldn't have a problem with the wires'/connectors' fitment under the body.
Now, I've ran shorty packs in my Serpent, and loved them actually!! I ran them with spacers in the front, packs all the way back. Suuuuuper balanced, and handled phenomenally!
Thanks, what I'm worried about is interference between the inset connectors and the little flip door on the battery tray. Especially if the connectors are in the center. I will just have to see. What is the depth of the battery tray?
I like the shorty pack idea from a setup perspective too. Something else to consider for sure.
