Most likely the low end will need to be leaned slightly. The low end is very sensitive and needs small adustments. but make sure the idle gap is not too big first. Drop the idle a little, then lean the bottom a little, then put the top flush. What brand truggy? Going by gearing depends on the truck, but most likely the gearing is fine. The clutch may be fine, but may not be. I would use lighter springs. If I remember correctly the .9's were the ticket with the M2c 4 shoe, the yellow ones anyway.
When the top is lean the bottom ends up slightly rich and the engine has trouble clearing out properly, and runs down the strait on the build up of fuel and goes lean when that runs out just when it needs more. I hope this helps.
