I think the smart money right now would still be the DB01R, for the reasons you mention, CVD's, slipper, and the aeration shocks, plus alum suspension blocks and cf reinforced plastic parts...and Tamiya is still bringing out new parts, like cf shock towers and it has good parts support.

I'd still be interested in seeing this DB02 in full TRF "R" trim.
