A lot of people take out the engine and radio and clean their car with a hose and water. When they are finished they will take out the setscrew and insert the little red straw from a can of WD-40 and flush the bearings out to clean and prevent rust. Not required but a nice touch so you do not have to disassemble the axle assemblies.
