While you have it apart its a good idea to:
shim the arm
change brushes
cut the comm
check/replace brush springs
clean/oil bearings
align brush hoods
physically clean the inside of the hoods with a comm stick or q tip a blast of cleaner wont remove buildup in there;
etc. for a fast and reliable motor
okay i blasted it with the motor blast and everything is okay, and i do all that stuff exept for align brush hoods and shim the arm (i just use the stock shims that came with the motor)
why is it important for brush hoods to be aligned? dont they do that at the manufactor, what causes them to become out of line?
