for those of you that have mounted fans on the chassis facing the motor, are you cutting out the middle portion of the vertical part in front of the motor ? the part that the receiver box clips to ?

i dont know if that part has and benefit from being there. i drilled a large hole but its not quite as large as the diameter of the fan. just wonder if i should cut it out.
