Just received my Duo 3.5 motor yesterday and can confirm that grinding was necessary to allow timing adjustment past the 20 mark (on both sides). Very unfortunate having to do this with a brand new motor.
Unfortunately adjusting timing is still difficult as I believe the aluminum cover (with the holes for the sensor connector and 3 screws) is too tight fitting. I gave up on this and wrote to Trinity, will see what happens.
