Maek sure you choose a sensored motor. They have a smoother powerband than sensorless. You could take a look at the Hobbywing V3 Xerun esc coming out soon. I have Xerun 60a V2.1 (software version V3.0) with a LRP/Tamiya Transpeed motor in my Tamiya Avante and it is buttersmooth and fast!
