probably me.. put a .247 or NovaRossi .28 in tmaxx with a good 1/8 scale clutch and see how long the tranny lasts. even with aluminum gears all that ends up happening is you shear the pins that hold the gears on or you end up wearing out one way bearings evey couple months. Even with a UE super 6 tranny its still all to easy to strip the first and second gear's with a silly powerfull engine and a 1/8 scale clutch.
I got sick of striping tranny gears non stop. Why put $250 into a tranny and rebuild it every couple months when for the same price I could go hybrid and have a 100% reliable setup. Single speed gearing is just as fast if not faster than the 2 speed trucks because the single speed has a lighter rotational weight with two big bearings vs the 3 shafts and 10 or so tiny bearings and gears all over the place.
