I did do my homework. I had the +8mm carbon tab and about 4mm of spacers on the stud in November, I know precisely why I did it - I was trying to put more side bite in the truck on power out of slow corners. What I didn't have was the guts to space it out any further because I was afraid to bend the ball studs if I went any higher.

Question I asked you is a real good one .
I agree.
No one has questioned why Ae raised the stud so high and thought most here would have a interest in the reason ...
Okay..I give up.
Why AE raised the stud so high?
Alternatively, why did they make it so low off out of the box?
Giving Craig more time to find correct answer..

Me biggest issue was in the air....sometimes I wouldn't have any control bc for a while it got windy where as the 8th scales are heavy enough. I don't mind beating her but she held up. also one of my lipos was puffing....prob bc of the beating. Lol
Understood. IMO this is where coupling the slipper is best; it's a trade off, it won't rotate but it makes it easier to air it out. On the 1/8th scale track I tried the pin modification on, it was like almost a second a lap quicker with no other changes because it was so much more comfortable when it was 7' in the air. It was worse if I needed the truck to rotate.
The lady there was telling me it used to be on raod. I forgot to return my badge to get my dollar back.
For a while there, that was close to the center of the RC universe. Technically, the Deja Vu club on Mission was the center, but this is a family friendly forum.
The Ranch was on Mission, about two miles away. They started with a small 1/10 scale track with concrete curbs and a enormous 1/8 scale onroad track in front of that. Later, they converted the 1/8th scale pavement track to a 1/10th scale track to run the 1992 IFMAR worlds, and then about a year later, built a huge 2 foot retaining wall and filled it in to make a giant off road, with a diagonal straight that made it seem even bigger. I remember having seven cells and a 13 wind in and getting yarded on the first day of a two day race and being BQ, the next day I put an 11 wind in for the last round of qualifing and sat on the pole.
Sadly, I can't find any pictures of the big track, but this is what the little one looked like:
Good night, even the little track was a fun place to race.
