Most grease just flings off.
I use ultra sticky Napa silicone brake pin lube, the green stuff in the pint size white bottle. I put a dab on the gears and I coat the outside of the bearings to seal them against water and dust.
Then a little puff of TAG body spray when I slide the diff case back together.
