I do run the geardiff on dirt.
But in my opinion ( and some others ) a gear diff should not be used on dirt. a ball diff gives the buggy better handeling.
a gear diff cant slip.
indoor carpet and surface like that is where a gear diff could be used.
I run the gear diff just because Im lazy in rebuilding balldiffs
