stupid question for you guys...
I have a B4, and i am wondering how often i should be working with the transmission oils. the car is producing a high pitched whine and i can't tell why. the wheels don't seem to want to coast at all anymore either.
mesh too tight, or should i open it up and give it an oil change?
if the mesh, any suggestions on how to keep the motor in one place so my pinion quits moving around every time it jumps?

sounds like pinion mesh is too tight, when you go to tighten it down check to make sure the motor holes aren't stripped out. Sometimes if you crank the screws down the holes strip, the cans aren't steel like they were with brushed motors. I've had good luck putting a dab of blue lock tight on the motor screws and tightening them down pretty good, obviously don't go gorilla grip or you'll strip the motor, but you can get it nice and tight.
