I noticed this as well and ran my first pack with the car on a stand. This pre-wore the ball cups so I wouldn't get any unnecessary resistance on the track. I also had the wheel spacers that came with the kit installed. This wore the ball cups down quite a bit bit didn't seem to cause realibility problems. The ball cups never popped off or failed in any way after six packs on the track. After this day on the track I did also notice some rubbing on the rear sway bar link and on the mounts on the ends of the shock shaft.
I just purchased the Tamiya 6mm alum. clamp wheel hub (part number: 53569). This should solve the problem with very little to no rubbing at all. Either buy these wheel hexes or use more spacers. Or you can just live with the rubbing. After one pack there should be no more interference.
