They are smaller (lighter), but they thread into a bunch of plastic. There's a massive M5 thread on either end going into the rod ends. They are pretty beefy except for what is exposed. In all of our testing (7 cars for 7 months) we have yet to break one. I think we did bend one however, but definitely hasn't been an issue for us.

FYI, a little feature - we used angled/offset rod ends for ALL of the camber links. This lowered all of the links by 5mm. Having an ounce or two be another 5mm isn't a world of difference, but every little bit helps and this is just an example of how much thought we put into this thing. We tried to optimize every where we could.
