I used metal polish and put the turnbuckle in a dremel and cleaned off all the original blue, then used 12 9v batteries and dr pepper. + wire goes to turnbuckle and negative sits in the dr pepper.

7 9v works okay, but it's not a real gold look. at 108v the gold really comes out bright like in the picture I posted.
