The plastic used to mold the carbon parts have carbon fibers added in for rigidity. This is straight from the mouths of the Associated engineers. Also when you look at a carbon part next to a plastic part you can clearly see the added fibers. Feel free to ask Maifield or Kinwald next time you see either one of them at the track. They do live and race in Arizona right?
Yes we race at the same track. None of us use them here but I will get their quote on it. I have tried them in the past and have some old ones in my box. I dont see any fiber mesh. I have a broken one and dont see any fiber mesh their either. I dont see how an injection mold can compress plastic/resin and inject fiber mesh. The process of making carbon fiber includes tons of clamping force to manufacture carbon fiber. I can think of a lot of things in this world with the name/word carbon included and it doesn't mean its carbon fiber. Dont forget, AE is also the same company that used the term "unobtainium" for the shock shafts. Does that mean you cant obtain them?
