I installed a Futaba 351bls with the Avid rack since day one, and have not had any issues what so ever.
The 1257 in my buggy now has been around the block since last year when I started this hobby and it has seen plenty of crashes. I ran a glued saver for months, and replaced it with the AVID rack when it came out, and it's still running strong. I think the servo arm or the servo/drag link ballcups would fail first before the 1258/1257 servo gears.
