I suggest that you go visit the different tracks that are convenient to where you live. Meet and talk to the racers and get their input on what class to run and what car you should get.

You want to get involved in a class and with a group that going to continue to race on a regular scheduled basis. Believe me there is nothing worse than being new to RC Racing and having a car that is not being raced at the track you are routinely using.

Also, try to find a mentor to help you get the car set-up so that it can be driven. An improperly set-up car can make a Pro look bad. Another thing - make sure that there is a local parts supply for the car your choose because you are going to break parts.
