I prefer Hudy tools and equipment and it is just that, preference. Preference based on quality, and re-sale value as well. However, they are expensive and not all shops can or don't stock them.

The only item I have opted for a different brand is the set-up station; Integy. Only because it was easier to read the engraved, printed markings against a solid color versus the transparent plexiglass Hudy opts to use. I also felt a bit more comfortable using the aluminum, since I don't get the "feeling" to be more cautious with the plexiglass, especially with a soldering iron near.

I started buying what I could afford, and some of it worked and worked well. But as I stay in the hobby, I have started to replace & acquire more equipment with the logic of "buy it once".
