How am i bloody going to solve this issue when Xrays come in with almost 61mm in the rear and i end up always on plastic
Tyres used Contacts Fronts 37 and Rear 42
Also i have noticed that i lost quite some steering comapared to
Fronts 35 and 40 rears Contact
Thanks
I would stick with the 35/40 combo, as mentioned by others the harder tire will only slip more causing even more wear.
For 15 minute finals I run 32/37 and I start with a 60/63 and still have enough left. Of course your track could be a lot harder on the tires, over here we mostly have smooth/medium traction tracks which are easy on the tires.
Some things you can do to reduce wheel spin:
-Throttle control, go easier on the throttle.
-Longer first gear, this transfers less torque to the wheels which should reduce the amount of wheel spin.
-Back off the clutch a little bit if you're currently running it at optimal settings.
I would suggest trying these things before you start changing the setup a lot since you mentioned the car is handling well. The changes above can reduce the wheelspin quite a lot without affecting your lap time a lot, or not even affecting it at all. You might even go faster because wheel spin reduces the forward and sideways traction and thus slowing down the car. Our cars will always have a reasonable amount of wheelspin compared to full-size cars but if you are burning to a new set within 15 minutes it's too much.
If you want to change the setup you could try going 50cst softer on the shock oil, should provide some more overall traction without influencing the overall balance too much.
