Threaded whocks will actually raise the ride height.
I have had some issues with getting the car down to anything below 6mm with big tyres. The easiest solution i found was associated shock mountings on the bottom. Aprox 2mm shorter so more room for the spring. You shouldn't ever use shock length or droop screws to set the ride height.
