Buying used can be a great way to save money BUT it's best to have some help from someone with experience in the hobby. Buying someones beat up junk can be an expensive lesson if you don't know what to look for.
Agree, I sold a full race package including b4, lrp spx, Jr mg servo, turnigy battery, Trinity 17.5, losi 2.4 radio like the dx3s and bantam charger to a buddy for $260

That was my setup getting back into racing, and it won for me quite a few times. While top notch equipment is expensive, competitive club race equipment is not.
