I removed the engine from my buggy and I removed the glowplug. Even then it is impossible to turn the crankshaft around. I'll install tomorrow the engine back in the buggy and preheat it for 15minutes to see if it works like my old GO engine.
Even with the plug removed the Alphas have a tremendous amount of metal pinch. What you are fighting is not compression but the metal pinch. Preheat the engine to no less than 200* and it should spin over. If it still sticks in the pinch then heat some more. I myself have had to heat some of my Alphas to nearly 300* to get loose enough to start. Keep the engine temps up above 200* also when you do get it started. Wrap the cooling head with foil or a sock to aid in keeping it warm.
