The other way is getting XXXT lower cups cutting the lip off and gluing the traxxas upper collars to it. Works well.
I personally have not done it. I had a 22 with plenty of extra parts that I used. Others have done it at my track and have not had issues as far as I know. Sorry I don't have more details about it.
