I understand that RC companies thrive on our inability to settle for second place, and they will make more $ selling v2 and v3 speedos and motors to people willing to throw away said $ on those hopes of first place.

But what happened to building quality products that last YEARS... and can be competitive during that span of time?

Oh wait... Tekin did this with the RS/RX series speedos. Theres nothing like upgradeable firmware. ROAR fixed that. Blinky to the rescue.

The B4 has been at the lead of the pack for how long? And Thunder Tiger has fenagled a way to coax us into wanting two additional versions of the car in the latter 1/3rd of its existence?

The RC8B... how many re-released versions are there since its inception?

More and more companies are following the money making trend of XRAY... re releasing kits with "upgraded" parts that were likely on the drawing board at the time of the kits inception. Its just a way to push the industry forward at the expense of our wallets... and at the cost of people staying in the hobby.

Sorry... rambling. Its just frustrating to see racers as their own demise. There can only be one winner on raceday... and 2nd place is first loser. But im cool with that... because NOW im having FUN.

I agree. Now I know that I have nowhere near the same driving skill as the fast and consistent guys at the track but when I'm getting smoked on the straight (not much skill needed to point and pull the trigger) and I ask what they are running and they say "17.5 nt" I cry foul. And this in both buggy and SC 2wd. Oh well I've got other driving issues I need to worry about anyways.
