I always ran mine very tight. The main difference is that the slipper is more forgving. Instead of breaking parts, the spool "slips" and allows less fatigue on parts. The solid spool is lighter, more direct and will provide a bit more steering on-power.

How about a variation on this one... front spool or gear diff for a 6.1 running VTA on a large asphalt track? And if I should go with the gear diff, starting point for fluid (or front putty/etc?) I realize the car is overkill for VTA, and new enough to where there's not a lot of VTA related conversations floating around for it.
