Nope. it fits right into ROAR specs for 8th scale buggies except it is under the minimum weight. If you add about 6 ounces to it, it would be perfectly legal at ROAR nationals. It is only slightly smaller than a regular Losi 8. You can't tell the two apart unless you really look close (smaller shock bodies, slightly shorter and narrower). Every part is about 20% smaller than a Losi Eight.
The SCTE is just the 810 with a SCTE body on it which is why it drives so much better out of the box compared to the other cars.
I switched to the Assoc because the build quality on the SCTE is crap RTR quality.
If Assoc was smart, they would take the 8.2e and throw some slightly shorter arms on it so it isn't too wide and boom, they would dominate the 1/10 4wd scte class.
Yeah, I unfortunately had both (the SCTE and 8ight 2.0). The 810 is quite a bit smaller and really doesn't share many parts with the 8ight. Nothing in the drive train, shocks, chassis, etc. are 8ight parts. The 810 actually just a Ten-T.
For some reason I thought the wheelbase or width was too short for ROAR/RCPro legality, I don't recall. Doesn't matter, I wouldn't run one anyway, junk. :P
