To lessen the slop in the front end of my AE cars that run the bearings on the wheels, I take an orange shock O-ring and put it behind the wheel nut. When you tighten it down it snugs up the slop without causing any bind. Be careful not to tighten it too much as it will flatten out and rub the inner and outer race of the bearing and cause drag.
