Just keep them tight. I didn't used to know how to set the diff and let it slip like a slipper cause i didn't want it to damage the motor or electronics, trust me it's not a good idea I had groves on my rings after only maybe 5 runs, like JeffC said they burn out fast. I say just keep them tight and give them a rebuild now and then but also check that they havn't loosen'd periodecly. Good luck.
