You should set your gearing so that you top out on speed as you reach the end of your longest straitaway and tune from there. I race at several tracks and they are always different configurations, so I change my gearing for every race depending on the track layout.
good point pyscho.

I put that P2K2 in my F-1. 100t spur with a 19T pinion. pretty fast but it will be interesting to see if my 2000 battery packs will last 5 minutes, since they've been running with the RS 540 motor
