I use the "bone savers" from touring cars. AE, XRay etc. have them. Google it.
They are plastic U shaped pieces that snap onto your dogbone/outdrive end of your cvd and last a long time plus they are replaceable.
You will need to open up the outdrive slot so they will fit. I did this to a worn pair and haven't needed another set.
I actually used them on standard dogbones (bones on both ends).
Problem was that they take up every bit of space, end to end and will create a bind when steering is near full lock. Not a good thing.
