Why should you have to set the EPA so you no longer hear the belt skip? By doing that you are taking away braking power from not only the front but the rear wheels aswell, and losing braking distance!
Do your wheels lock before the belt starts to skip? If so you already have too much break power and once the wheels skid you start to loose breaking power. The belt skipping in that scenario would actually help you because it would be acting like an ABS system
