I doubt you would break a servo via normal racing bumping around since the wheels are protected by the bumpers and body. I would be more worried about catching the side of a pipe or a tree root going full speed while bashing.

I have a carpet and plywood track near my house and you have the tendency to catch the side of plywood guide wall with one wheel getting hanging of the rail, stuff like that could strip the gears.

Even if you did strip, Savox make replacement gear kits for like $10 for most of their servos. I always keep a spare set in my tool box anyway.
