I can understand the want for something different as far as the big bores go. I put Kyosho big bores on my cars even though my shocks worked great. I ran Kyosho shocks bc I don't like That newer rings from associated seemed to leak where as the old ones did not.

Only difference I noticed between them was that over big jumps the car didn't bottom out with big bores. Shocks can be made to do what you want them to do. You can change oil pistons springs angle of the shocks and rebound. That being said the normal shocks won't bottom out over big jumps either if you increase the oil weight, but the thing is the car doesn't handle the way you want it to on the rest of the track with the heavier oil.

I just couldn't understand why wider springs if the rates were the same but I guess it is something different and some like the look or lack of rubbing. Idk about the rubbing though bc I never had an issue with that.
