For those of you that have them I just want to make sure I am understanding your meaning correctly. At present Serpent only offers Conical pistons as an option, at least on the Amain website. I have not seen a tapered piston option. For those that are unclear in the difference here you go:
- Conical cut refers to a radiused surface on one side of the piston, usually the compression side.
- Tapered cut refers to the holes and their orientation to the horizontal surface of the piston face. Stock are straight cut, holes are drilled at 90 degrees to the horizontal plane. Wereas tapered pistons are cut at an angle as they pass through the piston body. As for the fluid dynamics bit, well that's outside my pay grade!
Does Serpent offer a tapered piston? If so, where do you find it?
The holes are the same as the stock the serpent conical piston is convex the holes are not tapered
