This setup will work much better on the ice. I am going to trim the nails down so they just stick out of the tire. As they sit they work very well on the ice. Being so long they move around and I think over time would rip the tire up.
Want a challenge gluing tires? Try it with nails sticking almost a 1/4" out of the tire.
